Pixelle is a women’s sport initiative that celebrates every sporting journey and inspires girls and women to discover, embrace, and stay active through sport. Through photography, public art, and collective storytelling, we celebrate every journey—from a first practice to years of playing—because every sporting journey deserves to be celebrated.
Our goal is to create large-scale Pixelle Portraits of inspiring female athletes in major cities using hundreds of photographs from the beginnings of girls’ and women’s sporting journeys. Every submitted photo becomes a Pixelle—a reminder that every journey starts somewhere.

Every sporting journey begins with a first moment—a first jersey, first race, first swim, first skate, first ride, or first practice. These moments may seem small, but they often become the beginning of a lifelong connection to sport, shaping our confidence, our resilience, and who we become.
Yet the stories of girls and women in sport have too often gone unseen.
Pixelle brings these stories together through photography, public art, and collective storytelling, celebrating every beginning and reminding us that every journey matters.

Every Pixelle Portrait begins with hundreds of individual stories.
Girls and women from around the world are invited to share a photograph from the beginning of their sporting journey, along with the story behind it. Each image becomes a Pixelle, joining hundreds of others to create a large-scale portrait of an inspiring professional female athlete.
From a distance, the artwork celebrates an extraordinary athlete. Up close, it reveals something even more powerful: a mosaic of personal stories woven together into a collective portrait of courage, perseverance, joy, and possibility.
Every Pixelle Portrait is a celebration of connection, community, and the many ways girls and women experience sport. Together, these stories remind us that everyone has a place in the picture.
