Why Childhood Sports Photos Matter
We often see elite athletes at the height of their careers—winning championships, standing on podiums, breaking records, and inspiring future generations.
Pixelle invites us to look back at where those journeys began.
Behind every accomplished athlete is a first practice, first competition, first coach, first teammate, or first moment they discovered the joy of sport—whether that was on a field, court, rink, track, or in a pool.
By bringing these early memories together, Pixelle creates a powerful visual reminder that every great sporting journey begins with a single step.
A Voluntary and Meaningful Experience
Participation in Pixelle is entirely voluntary. For athletes under the age of majority, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent before a photograph or story is submitted.
Submitted photographs and stories may be used to create, exhibit, and share the Pixelle project through public art installations, exhibitions, events, digital platforms, social media, and project-related marketing and communications.
Participants and parents or guardians are encouraged to review the Pixelle Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy before participating.

The first Pixelle installation will be unveiled in Montreal, bringing together the stories and sporting memories of girls and women to create a landmark public artwork. The location and featured professional female athlete will be announced in the coming months.
